Badminton Success

Badminton Success

A massive congratulations to our badminton teams who had a very successful outing in the Kerry Schools Badminton competition in Killarney this week. Our u14 team of Triona Prendeville, Irene Carol, Kayla Galvin and Sinead Leahy completed a grand slam, winning every single game they played on the day. Our u16 team of Kate Nolan, Sinead Kelly, Sara Carol and Emilie Browne were also outstanding and did another grand slam, defeating Tarbert Comprehensive and St Brigid’s Killarney and Presentation Milltown in the final. Our u19 team of Cara Leahy, Lucy Prendegast, Molly Linnane and Catherine Cahill punched above their weight in defeating Causeway Comprehensive in their opening game, and were unlucky to lose out to a strong Presentation Tralee side in their second game. These results qualified them for the 3rd place play off, where they narrowly lost out to Gaelcolaiste Tra Li. Our u14 and u16 teams now progress to the Munster competition which will take place in January.

Congratulations to our TY Debate team who proposed the motion ‘Africa must be allowed to develop their fossil fuel resources to help lift their people out of poverty’. They engaged in a riveting debate against St Columbas College. We await the result of the adjudication process in the coming days. #concerndebate

It was a great pleasure of ours to celebrate Presentation Day today with Sr. Consolata, Sr. Eilís, Sr. Teresa, Canon Declan and Tony Behan. Presentation Day is a pivotal moment in our school calendar as we celebrate the lifetime work of Nano Nagle and the Presentation Sisters that have enriched our lives and school. It was a privilege to welcome you all to our school today in what was truly a celebration of all that you have done to enhance our school community.
