Bishop Ray Browne

Bishop Ray Browne

Fifth year students had the fantastic experience of meeting with Bishop Ray Browne today. Bishop Ray visited Presentation Secondary School, Listowel as part of the SYNOD listening sessions. Pope Francis has invited us all to contribute to the renewal of the church and to begin the process of synodality, which means moving into the future by listening to all members of the church especially those who have been marginalised. Pope Francis has said it is especially important to listen to the voice of young people and so Bishop Ray joined us today to hear our students’ view and their experience of Church.

Junior Football Team

On Wednesday our Junior Football Team took part in the first round of the inaugural Kerry Schools Competition against Pres Tralee in Kerins O Rahillys. We started the game well with some quick scores and held the lead into half time. After the break Pres Tralee came out strong and narrowed the gap but our girls fought back, finishing strongly with an impressive score of Pres Listowel 5 – 9 to Pres Tralee 2 -9. Well done to all our players on an excellent game of football. Our next game will be the quarter final of the Cup Competition.

Trip to Nano Nagle Place

Our 1st Year Students enjoyed their visit to Nano Nagle place in Cork city last week. They learned about Nano Nagle’s life,  how she worked tirelessly to educate the poor of the city and about the powerful impact she had on education in Ireland and worldwide. An insightful and inspiring trip. Nano Nagle Place has been awarded the prestigious Council of Europe Museum Prize for 2021. It continues to provide support and care for people in need.
